The event was held at Bodney Camp near Watton and the youngsters were able to experience archery, river crossing, rifle shooting, orienteering, leadership exercises, fieldcraft, aircraft recognition, first aid and a “team pull” which involved teams of eight cadets pulling a minibus. A total of 28 squadrons competed.

221 Sqn has vacancies for cadets, and interested teenagers can contact the unit on 01493 655136 on Monday and Wednesday evenings when parades are held, beginning at 7.30pm. Air cadets, aged 13 to 19, are given the opportunity to learn about aviation and aerospace, fly in RAF aircraft, develop skills to lead expeditions, tour foreign countries, and become target shooting marksmen.
