IT WILL be hats off to top celebrities Stephen Fry, Victoria Wood and Frank Skinner in Caister on Friday as headgear worn by the stars is auctioned to help Norfolk youngsters get out and play.

A signed bowler hat belonging to Kingdom actor Mr Fry, a multi-coloured woollen hat worn by comedienne Ms Wood and a West Bromwich Albion Santa hat donned by comic Mr Skinner are the star attractions for the charity auction at Morse Opticians.

The opticians in Tan Lane has organised the Festival of Hats sale to raise funds to buy play equipment for John Grant School.

From 3.30pm to 9pm on Friday, people will be able to leave sealed bids for the hats and will also able to view a colourful collection of handmade hats created by local children and residents.

Anyone one wanting to make a hat for the exhibition and be entered for a best hat competition has until 1pm on Friday to drop off their displays.
