A group of volunteers who monitor the coast to help people stay safe out on the sea and on beaches are doing a sponsored swim to see in 2018.
On New Year’s Day watchkeepers from the Caister National Coastwatch Institution Station are doing a sponsored swim with people asked to come along and support them and celebrate the arrival of 2018.
A spokesman said: “Some of our watchkeepers are doing a sponsored swim on New Year’s Day.
“We will meet at our Coastwatch Station at 11am on January 1.
“If you would like to sponsor a watchkeeper please let us know. We have sponsor forms at the station.
“There will be hot drinks, soup and some warm food, so come and join us on the beach to celebrate the start of the new year in style.”
Access to the station is via the Coastal Car Park on Beach Road or via Tan Lane footpath,
