A couple from Caister have raised more than £2,000 worth of donated toys for children who need them most this Christmas.

Jonathan and Stacy Beck collected the toys by asking their Kleeneze customers across the borough to pick gifts that they wished to go to Barnardo`s children.

The couple have been collecting toys at Christmas for eight years and this year’s haul saw 315 presents collected, worth more than £2,000.

Mr Beck said: “Our average is around £1,500 a year so this year has been a bumper collection.

“This also means that in the last eight years we have collected £14,000 in total, so a massive thank you to everybody who has contributed in the past.”

Mr Beck said the couple also took their team members’ collection with them to Barnardo’s, Michael Moseley of Norwich who raised £800 worth and Mark Copland of Hellesdon who raised another £200.

Mr Beck said: “So in total we delivered 13 boxes, £3000 of toys.”
