A Caister woman has been banned from contacting her neighbour, in the hope of repairing a rift between two feuding families.
Hayley Harbord, 45 of Plymouth Close, appeared in front of magistrates in Great Yarmouth yesterday, facing two charges of harassment of her neighbour.
However, these were dismissed after both parties agreed to a restraining order, which was passed by magistrates.
The bench heard how the two families had been involved in a long-standing dispute over parking, which escalated over the past eight years.
The order came with three conditions - that for 12 months Mrs Harbord could not contact the other family, enter their property or block their driveway.
Peter Candon, chairman of the bench, said: “We hope, and the court sincerely hopes, the families can now work and live together.”
Mrs Harbord was also told breaching the order could result in up to five years imprisonment.
