MORE than 60 pupils from Years 5 and 6 of Caister Junior slept under canvas at Whitwell Hall enjoying the opportunity to live in the outdoors environment and blessed by good weather. The children experienced making their own little fires to cook on and toasted marshmallows as a dessert. Some of the activities included canoeing, archery, boat building and watching two sheep dogs work in the field. Students studying the BTEC National Diploma in Sport at Paston College joined the pupils for the day to run two activities; learning techniques in basketball and team building games including building towers with spaghetti and marshmallows, not an easy task! The camp fire heard many loud voices, pupils sharing songs and rhymes under the night stars, and enjoying each other's company.
