A Caister man has been jailed for 12 month after he was found in possession of a stolen ring.

Kurtis Harper, 23, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court following an incident on Tuesday, December 20 2016 where he was searched by police and the ring was found.

After the sentencing Det Con Steve Harrowing said: “Harper had originally claimed that the ring was left to him by his dead mother.

“However, after a thorough investigation, it was clear his mother was still alive and the story had been completely fabricated.

“I hope this sentence provides the public and the victim with reassurance that we will do everything within our power to find stolen property and to reunite it with its rightful owner.”
