YEAR 7 at Caister Middle School were treated to a fun challenge day with a serious message last week, taking part in the Carbon Challenge Raodshow, part of BP's national enterprising science programme presently touring the UK.
YEAR 7 at Caister Middle School were treated to a fun challenge day with a serious message last week, taking part in the Carbon Challenge Raodshow, part of BP's national enterprising science programme presently touring the UK.
The pupils used electronic voting keypads and worked in groups where they could experience environmental, economic and social issues relating to carbon footprints. The day culminated in presentations using technology and drama. Year 7 leader Julie Freeman said: “Our pupils are amongst the youngest pupils in the UK to undertake this challenge and the leaders for the day were impressed with the pupils' inventiveness and creative ability.”
As a result of undertaking the challenge, pupils are involved in writing an action plan to reduce carbon emissions and will be undertaking further projects relating to their link with BP.
