POLICE are teaming up with local holiday camps in a bid to combat crimes on the sites during the summer months.

Officers from the Caister and Coastal Villages Safer Neighbourhood Team met with representatives from seven holiday camps on Tuesday to discuss ways to reduce crimes.

During the summer season 30 families were excluded from sites for criminal or inappropriate behaviour.

Representatives from Hemsby's Bellaire, Long Beach, Florida, Seadell and Caister's Haven, Grasmere and Eastern Beach sites also quizzed officers about ways to improve security.

PC Pat Bailey, the local crime reduction officer also attended offering expert advice on crime prevention issues and explaining the benefits of Norfolk Constabulary's business watch scheme, which allows information and intelligence sharing among the police and the holiday sites.

During the meeting managers and staff from the holiday sites decided to set up their own partnership in order to share information and help each other with security.

If any other holiday camps would like to be involved in the scheme contact Sgt Andy Brown of Caister SNT on 0845 456 4567 or email SNTCaisterCoastal@Norfolk.pnn.police.uk.
