CAISTER Recycling Centre will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday next week due to work being carried out by Norfolk County Council to improve essential facilities for staff.

The work begins on Monday and is expected to last for 10 weeks. For most of that period the site will remain open from 8am to 4pm, and the full range of recycling facilities including paint recycling and the pay as you throw service for DIY Waste will still be available.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the site is having to close because of excavation in the access road to allow drainage improvements.

A council spokesman said at other times during the works, visitors are asked to take extra care because the site entrance will be narrower than usual. There may also be occasional delays at the site while the work is proceeding.

A further two-day closure of the site is likely later in the 10-week construction period for which details will be announced as soon as available.

The nearest alternative Recycling Centre is available at Strumpshaw, Stone Road, Strumpshaw, NR13 4NHR.
