Businesses in and around Caister are being asked to support a pub’s charity drive to raise funds to help raise awareness of the devastating erosion at Hemsby.
From June 11 the Ship Inn in Caister’s Victoria Street is holding a week-long series of fundraising events in aid of the Save Hemsby Shoreline registered charity.
The charity’s aim to raise public awareness to the coastal erosion plight facing Hemsby and to raise funds to help protect its dunes and coastline.
The fundraising week involves bingo, a quiz, a children’s party, live music and Country and Western night, a bucking bronco and a sausage and cider festival.
There will also be raffle to be drawn on the Sunday night, with businesses asked to donate prizes.
To donate a prize call the Ship Inn on 01493 722744.
Two bouts of severe erosion this year led to the demolition of several clifftop homes on The Marrams.
