Calling old Gorleston school pupils
On the threshold of an exciting new era as an academy, Gorleston's Oriel High School is seeking to get back into contact with its old boys and girls.Liz Haddleton, the school's head of creative arts, said their intention was to build up a log of ex-students, connect those who may have lost touch or forgotten about each other, and publish regular information on the school website.

Liz Haddleton, the school's head of creative arts, said their intention was to build up a log of ex-students, connect those who may have lost touch or forgotten about each other, and publish regular information on the school website.
She said they were keen to trace students back to the old technical high school that preceded Oriel.
“As a school we have not been very good at keeping up-to-date with our ex-students - what you are doing, where you live, what adventures you may have experienced in your lives,” she said.
“It could be that your life could act as an inspiration, a catalyst, for an existing student or one we have yet to enrol.”

They are asked to include the year they left; their maiden name if relevant and focal points of their life so far - whether they went to college, completed an apprenticeship or went to university.
Ms Haddleton said: “The information does not have to have been earth-shattering, small changes can alter life paths.
“Tell us about your work, your families and your memories of school and those who taught you. Include photographs - you then and now.”
