The Great Yarmouth-based charity Centre 81 is keen to give some of its members a break from their wheelchairs.

Centre 81, which has a skills and activities centre for people with a disability, has appealed for the donation of two or three electric recliner chairs.

Diana Staines, chief executive, said it would give members who usually have to sit in their wheelchairs all day “a different view of the world”.

Ms Staines said: “Having the opportunity to sit comfortably, and in a different position to what they’re used to in their wheelchairs, would make such a difference to some members.

“If anyone has an electric recliner they’re thinking of replacing, it would be great if we could have first refusal. We’re happy to take a look and collect it. We would also be thrilled if someone would like to donate a new recliner.”
