Youngsters across our borough have raised hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.
Here are some of the success stories:
Children from Sara and Jenny’s Childminding Services in Caister visited Ealing House Residential Care Home dressed in their Pudsey T-shirts.
The children made cakes for their visit, which they shared with residents and staff.
They raised £48.80 for Children in Need.
Staff at the James Paget University Hospital’s pharmacy department showed off their baking skills for the annual national appeal.
There was a large cake sale and a tombola held by Judith Smith and friends, which raised £545, the largest amount raised so far by the team.
To support Children in Need, the Union of Venture Students the representative body for students at Ormiston Venture Academy hosted a fundraiser event at the Gorleston-based academy.
Students were encouraged to donate their old pound coins to take part in a red and yellow themed non-uniform day, alongside taking part in a variety of games. In total, 106 old pound coins were collected and the academy raised £974 for Children in Need.
A group of adults with learning difficulties who attend a Norfolk Community Learning Service’s course at The Drill Hall in Artillery Square in Great Yarmouth have carried out a sponsored Ramble for Pudsey.
They were all in fancy dress and walked along the resort’s seafront during the morning.
Local residents and holidaymakers put their loose change in the groups’s buckets as they raised money for the BBC’s Children in Need.
Pupils and staff at Alderman
Swindell Primary School in Great Yarmouth had a big surprise when Pudsey Bear walked into their special Children In Need assembly on Friday.
Fundraising started on Thursday with a cake sale and reached a peak on Friday with a Pudsey non-uniform day, class money box competitions and Pudsey hunts. Altogether £402.78 was raised.
Talented members of the Bradwell-based Fay Bedford Stage School sang and danced their hearts out at a BBC Children in Need show at Burgh Hall in Burgh Castle.
The girls raised more than £300, with more money pledged and were praised for their efforts.
Over the years the group has raised thousands of pounds for Children in Need and other well deserved charities.
The stage school’s next performance is at Gorleston town centre at 2.30pm on Sunday as part of the Christmas lights switch-on.
Treetops Day Nursery in Martham enjoyed a Teddy Sleepover Fun Day on Friday.
Staff and children came to the nursery dressed in their pyjamas with their favourite teddies. The youngsters built dens, shared stories, had a teddy bears picnic at snack time and enjoyed dancing and ring games.
They also decorated Pudsey biscuits and made Pudsey masks.
Sarah Amis, childcare manager, said: “We all had a fun day in our pyjamas and our little nursery raised nearly £60 for Children in Need.”
The Asda store in Great Yarmouth got in the Children in Need mood by taking Pudsey Bear to schools, hospitals and children’s centres in the area.
