Car hits 18-year-old girl as she crosses a Great Yarmouth road

A CAR hit an 18-year-old girl as she crossed the street in Great Yarmouth this morning.
The girl was crossing North Quay Road at around 11am when she was hit by a vehicle which failed to stop.
She has been taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston for a precautionary check-up but is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
Police were called to the scene at 11.05am and an ambulance attended.
A spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary said: “There was a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
“The girl’s injuries are not life-threatening and she was taken to the James Paget University Hospital for a precautionary check-up.
“The driver failed to stop but the victim admits that she didn’t look properly.”
Police are urging the driver to report to Gorleston police station to report the accident.
