Preparations are building to a carnival climax today when a spectacular procession is set to take to the streets of Great Yarmouth as part of the annual arts festival.

Workshops have been channelling the creativity of local folk who have been busy building giant sculptural puppets that will be hoisted aloft as part of the transport and music-themed cavalcade.

More than 300 people are due to take part in the parade along a new and extended route starting at the seafront Marina Centre from 11am with organisers saying to expect a “spectacular” display.
