THE stakes could be set to rise in the weeks ahead as the bidding process for Great Yarmouth's new casino gathers pace.
The boroughs' residents are being invited to give their views on what the priorities should be for the casino by a deadline of April 10.
Bids will be judged by a variety of standards including design, job creation and economic benefits.
Pleasure Beach boss Albert Jones has already put forward plans for a �35m casino and leisure complex on South Denes.
Further bidders may show an interest at an open day being held by the borough council for interested parties in March.
A formal consultation process is expected to begin in the autumn and the licence should be granted in 2010. The current timetable means the casino is unlikely to be built before 2012.
