LAST week, Year 1 children at Southtown Infant School concluded their topic of Old England by experiencing a “Castle Day” in which they took part in lots of activities. The children made candles, crushed olives to make oil for lamps, made gargoyles to scare off enemies, made ink for writing, and medicine to cure ailments. In the afternoon, the children entertained each other with jousting, singing and juggling while enjoying a feast.
