If it’s Tuesday, you could be in line for a heartwarming random act of kindness delivered by a growing family.
For ‘Treasure Tuesdays’ have taken off in Gorleston, with staff at the James Paget University Hospital among those to receive a hand-made gift.
Tia Hutchinson has been making trinkets, bracelets and keyrings since May 2011, receiving several awards in recognition of her efforts.
And now the generous youngster has a support team comprising five little brothers, with the youngest, Toby, arriving in August.
Her mother Lisa said the young family had been just as busy with fundraising and was looking forward to a successful 2018.
She said Tia and her brothers had created Treasure Tuesdays, which involved handing out hand-made treasures in envelopes to those they thought deserved them.
Recent random acts of kindness have been given to hospital staff and staff at local care homes, as well as schools.
Mrs Hutchinson said: “We have also collected items for various raffles throughout the year such as a raffle for the children’s ward at James Paget University Hospital where our monkey mascot has been visiting children and giving out gifts such as handmade bracelets, colouring books and crayons.
“We may not have raised as much in money as we have done in the previous years but we hope we have raised smiles.
“The money raised from this year’s treasures that Tia has sold was put into collection buckets for the Great Yarmouth Lions Club when the sleigh passed our house, the decision was made by Tia and her brothers.
“We have been very grateful for bead donations received this year the latest donation was from Jean Ackary from Great Yarmouth.
“Tia makes use of anything she is donated and the more donations received the more treasures made. We hope that 2018 will be another successful year for Tia’s Treasures and would like to thank everyone for supporting us not just this year but for the past nearly seven years.”
Since May 2011 Tia’s Treasures has been selling her handmade products at fundraising events and via her website – www.tiastreasures.net
The business has also diversified into the production of handmade necklaces, key rings, bookmarks and bag charms.
