Lifeboatmen were bowled over to receive a cheque for £1217.96 from the Potters Friends Foundation.

The proceeds were raised during January’s World Indoor Bowls Championships hosted at Potters Resort, which includes the popular Guess the Colour of Judy’s Jacket competition where guests have the opportunity to win a free Potters Resort break if they choose the colour matched by Mrs Potter’s jacket on the final Sunday of the tournament.

Nathan Moore, CEO of the Potters Friends Foundation said: “We’re delighted to continue our support of the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Lifeboat crew, an extremely deserving group of local volunteers in our community. It is fitting that proceeds from Mrs Potter’s Jacket competition can in turn provide vital equipment for our local lifeboat crew and their brave, ongoing efforts.”

The Potters Friends Foundation was founded in memory of Brian Potter MBE.

Coxswain Paddy Lee said: “We are very honoured to receive this cheque. On behalf of myself and the crew, thank you to everyone involved.”

The station also thanked Mrs Boggis for her £200 cheque of £200 on behalf of her late husband Fred Boggis.
