AN 11-year-old boy has been left shaken after being attacked by a dog in Great Yarmouth, which bit him on the chest leaving him with cuts and bruises.

The youngster had gone to play football with friends at a play area near Mill Road in Cobholm when he was set upon by what police describe as a Dalmatian-type white dog with black spots at 7pm on Tuesday.

The dog was with a man and a woman who were inside the cage when the boy arrived and is believed to have jumped at him as it left the play area.

The boy pushed the dog away, but it jumped back up and bit him on the chest.

The man and woman walked away with the dog towards Mill Road.

Police have issued a description of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

One is described as male, white, of slim build and tall with short dark brown gelled hair and aged 19 to 21. He wore a thin black waist length coat, grey jeans and light coloured laced plimsolls.

The second is described as female, white, of medium build with long straight brown hair which she wore in a ponytail.

She was wearing a long pink and cream knitted scarf and a thin brown waist length jacket and aged around 19.
