Aspiring singers across the county are invited to audition for the prestigious Broadland Youth Choir.

The award-winning group, which has performed in the musicals Joseph and Evita as well as on Songs of Praise, is opening its doors to new recruits for the coming season.

New members will get the chance to perform in Joseph in April this year, as well as the choir's regular programme of concerts.

Musical director Carole Tims invited anyone aged between seven and eighteen who can get to Broadland for rehearsals to get in touch to arrange an informal audition, which normally includes singing a piece unaccompanied.

She said: “Obviously it's important to make sure that you have a voice, but I look for enthusiasm and commitment above all else.”

The choir, which has members from Cromer, Claxton and Wymondham as well as Norwich and the Broadland area, rehearses every Friday after school for about an hour and a half, with occasional extra rehearsals at weekends.

There are about four places available for the coming season, so hopefuls are advised to get in touch as soon as possible.
