Churches celebrating the best of county life for Norfolk Day
PUBLISHED: 13:00 15 July 2018
Music, history and community will be celebrated across countywide churches this summer.
This year’s Celebrating Open Churches event will kick off on the first ever Norfolk Day - Friday, July 27 - and carry on until Sunday, August 12.
It will take place in Norfolk and Waveney churches, is an extension of the Open Churches Week, and has been organised by the Diocese of Norwich.
Norfolk Day is a chance for communities, charities and businesses to celebrate what makes this county great.
One of the ambassadors of Norfolk Day is the Dean of Norwich Cathedral, the Very Rev Jane Hedges, who said: “Norfolk Day will give us all a chance to reflect on how fortunate we are to be living here.
“Most important of all, we can celebrate all the people of this county – their generosity and care for others, their ingenuity and creativity, their skills and hard work.”
