With temperatures in the mid-twenties and barely a cloud in the sky, you might have thought it would be a nice weekend for a peaceful stroll along the Great Yarmouth seafront.

But with thousands of vehicles of all shapes and sizes in town for the Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival, and huge crowds swarming to see them, the seafront was more suitable for getting revved up than relaxing.

Indeed, when the engine of the British Hercules 14 cylinder radial engine was started up on Sunday, the sound permeated across Britannia Pier and punters had to hold on to their hats as the propellers whirred into action.

This is the fourth time the free festival has been held, which sees the seafront transformed into a petrol head’s paradise.

From classic Cadillacs, motorbikes and Minis, to American trucks and police cars, the festival exhibited a diversity of vehicles, with something to please everyone.
