FIFTY pupils from Cliff Park Junior School have returned from a trip to Whitwell Hall in North Norfolk, as part of a trip to ease the pressure from the hard work they have put into their year six SATs tests.
During their week, partnered with staff from the school, they were creative in making dens in the local woods, went canoeing, fired arrows during an archery session, went swimming and had a relaxing trip to Cromer.
Michael Walsh, trip organiser and year six leader, said the trip introduced the children to outdoor life and let them experience time away from the modern technology which dominates their lives and allow them to have fun in the process.
“Many thanks goes out to Miss Stone, Miss Taylor and Mr Cannell, they aided the trip which was a huge success and ensured that all children enjoyed themselves and came back home safe. When we first got there some children were quite homesick, but by the end of the week we'd made lots of friends and it almost felt like home."
The adult helpers made all the meals on an open fire and ensured no children went hungry and in the evenings they all sat around a camp fire, sung songs, had hot chocolate and listened to stories about the surrounding area.
