A community worked together to provide desperately needed facilities for Gorleston and Great Yarmouth police stations.

Following a community meeting at the Little Stars playgroup in Cobholm local beat PC Nikki Poulter, PSCO Lee Brown and Labour borough councillor Paula Waters-Bunn identified a need for basic provisions to help where children are concerned. When children go into protective custody, police look after them until social services arrive. But, the police have no nappies and wipes, clean clothing or toys to keep the children occupied at what must be a stressful time for them. Organisers and parents at Little Stars decided to help and Cllr Waters-Bunn contacted Tesco community champion Hayley Cook, and was successful in handing over vital supplies to PC Poulter and PCSO Brown.
