Students and teachers from North Denes Junior School in Great Yarmouth poured into the playground to perform a Red Nose Day dance this afternoon.

More than 150 youngsters were involved, performing a ‘flashmob’ dance to the soundtrack of Black Lace’s Superman to surprise of parents and family arriving to collect their children at the end of the day.

Sharon Johnson from North Denes said: “It was fantastic, the children really enjoyed it and we raised more than £170.”

Meanwhile, staff from Great Yarmouth’s engineering consultancy company AMEC raised money by taking part in the Jessie J sweepstake on the Red Nose Day website, guessing how the pop star will grow her hair back after her sponsored head shave tonight. They collected money around the office in their fancy dress costumes.

The firm has also been holding Bake Off sales in the office for the past month, raising more than £200, while project assistant Sharon Loftus has raised £400 with a six-week slimathon that has seen her lose 1st 4lbs.
