COMMUNITY leaders in Great Yarmouth will tomorrow mark the work of local champion Fred Learmonth with a special award acknowledging his outstanding hard work and active involvement in the community to make it a better and safer place to live. Mr Learmonth, 63, has worked proactively over many years supporting police, the local authorities and other organisations to combat anti-social behaviour.

In recent years he has received many awards in his crusade against anti-social behaviour, notably winning the National Home Office Taking a Stand Award two years running for his contribution to reducing anti-social behaviour in his and other neighbourhoods. He also received an award at the Norfolk Waste Management Partnership's annual awards event.
