Villagers are being asked to keep a record of when they are bothered by unpleasant smells coming from the Caister treatment works, in the form of a diary.
The parish council is looking to build evidence the issue is still a problem, and help to pinpoint which area of the plant the smells are coming from.
Tony Baker, chairman of Caister Parish Council, said there had been an upsurge in complaints following a dry spell over the summer with several villagers airing their disgust at the most recent meeting.
Following their complaints it was decided that residents should keep a diary of when they were plagued by odours to assess the scale of the problem and the number of people who were affected.
Among those voicing concern was William Sells who says he regrets moving to the village two years ago. The 70-year-old former aircraft engineer said he was fed up with having to keep his windows closed.
