‘I was on holiday having a good time’ - Drunk woman found by police rolling around in the road

A woman was found drunkenly rolling on the road outside a Great Yarmouth holiday camp last month.

Samantha Alderson, of Mickleton Close, Darlington, was arrested by police and charged with being drunk and disorderly in public.

The 22-year-old had been staying at the Vauxhall Holiday Park, on Acle New Road, when the incident occured last month on September 18.

She was seen by police throwing herself on the floor and rolling on the road at the Vauxhall roundabout.

Appearing at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, Alderson pleaded guilty to the offence.

Representing herself, she said: “I do not even remember what happened.

“I was on holiday having a good time and had about five drinks, but I do not know how I got in that state.”

Magistrates’ fined Alderson £50 and ordered her to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £40.
