SUFFOLK Police and the coastguard were called on Saturday following reports that a member of crew had died on an oil tanker. The alarm was raised shortly after midday and emergency personnel were dispatched to The Ocean Crown tanker about six and a half miles off the coast at Lowestoft.

The alarm was raised shortly after midday and emergency personnel were dispatched to The Ocean Crown tanker about six and a half miles off the coast at Lowestoft. A Suffolk police spokesman said: “The coastguard notified us that there had been a death of a member of staff on board a ship.” He added that there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death. The dead crew man is understood to be of South Korean nationality.
