The Swinging Sixties were a decade of change and in the Great Yarmouth borough it saw a boom in holidaymakers flocking to the coast for their summer holiday.
The east coast adapted and Yarmouth itself saw the top stars of the showbiz scene appear in the theatres during the summer of season, and horror upon horrors, happily mingle with the crowds!
Elsewhere the landscape was changing with more people travelling in by car, and the demise of local railways thanks to Lord Beeching. Buildings were removed, renovated or replaced and it seemed the sunshine boom years were here to stay…
