CASH is rolling in for the James Paget's Palliative Care East appeal with another

two major donations this

week.

Russell and Kim Edwards from the Ocean Room in Gorleston donated £1,000 to the appeal along with

another £2,000 split between the Sandra Chapman Centre and the Big C.

The money has been raised at various events and raffles held throughout the year.

Linda Turner of the Big C is pictured with Kim and Russell Edwards, Palliative Care East appeal co-ordinator Jenny Westgate, Dr Tawfik and Sister Liz Aylward of the Sandra Chapman Centre.

The appeal received another big lump sum from the Freemasons Lodge of Friendship.

Tony Jacobs and Michael Muskett, both past masters of the lodge presented £1,750.

The money was raised at a February Ladies Festival, attended by 240 people including masons, their wives and non masonic guests.

Mr Jacobs said the event was a fitting climax in his year as master of the lodge and added: “It was very gratifying to see so much support given on the night for what is a

very worthy and worthwhile local cause.”

Pictured are Michael Muskett, Jenny Westgate, Tony Jacobs, Dr Jenny Mallion - associate specialist in palliative care, and Arthur Harris, the capital planning manager at the James Paget.

Meanwhile, proceeds from a show Movie Magic will go towards the palliative care appeal.

The review of Hollywood hits spanning the history of cinema will take to the stage on Thursday and Friday next week.

The production team and some of the cast of Musical Magic plus guests Stephen Amer and Cara-Marie Hawkins bring a celebration of the silver screen in a revue of Hollywood's finest moments.

The song and dance show features an energetic and talented cast including junior and senior ensemble, dancers and soloists.

The show promises to bring

back memories of great movies such as Sleepless in Seattle, Top Gun,

My Girl and Easter Parade combined with some up to date family favourites such as Hairspray, Stardust and High School Musical.

The evening also features close up magician Tyler Harrison.

Movie Magic is in memory of Wendy Roche and proceeds from the performances will towards the appeal. Tickets are £5 each and are available from the Marina Centre and the Dance Shop in Gorleston.
