A GORLESTON man has donated 500 to Palliative Care East in memory of his wife and recognition of the care she received.
Bernard Radcliffe, of Church Road, donated the money to the 1.5m appeal in memory of his wife Joan, who died at home after a brave battle with cancer.
The couple had been married for 55 years and had known each other since they were 13. Mr Radcliffe said he wanted to thank everyone involved with his wife's care in the palliative care team and Richard Furness, lung cancer nurse specialist at the James Paget.
He is pictured with sister Kathy Nobes, Andrea Baxter-Pownall and Dr Jenny Mallion all from the palliative care team.
So far, more than 820,000 has been raised for the appeal to build a dedicated palliative care centre in the grounds of the James Paget serving patients in the Yarmouth and Waveney area.
Forthcoming events in aid of the appeal include a musical recital at All Saints Church, Filby, and a fun day at Eastern Beach Holiday Park, both tomorrow .
