Police stopped a motorist in the town after officers noticed a defective rear light on their vehicle.

However, on pulling the drive over, it was discovered that the driver was almost twice the legal driving limit and did not hold valid insurance.

It was also found that the driver of the vehicle had not passed their driving test and was only holding a provisional driving licence.

Officers from the east team of Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing pulled over the driver at around 2.30pm on Sunday, December 24.

A Tweet from @NSRoadsPolicing said: “East team just stopped a car in Great Yarmouth for a defective rear light and found [the] driver was a provisional licence holder, had no insurance and [was] nearly two times the limit.”
