A DISABLED driver badge holder has won her fight to overturn a parking ticket given to her in Great Yarmouth.
Lisa Buckland, of Jenner Road, Gorleston was told the £65 parking fine she had received on August 8 would be rescinded because the sign warning disabled badge holders they had to pay was covered by a tree at Palmer's department store car park.
The mum-of-two had not realised from July 1 badge holders were no longer exempt from parking charges after Yarmouth Borough Council decided to change the rules to pay for disabled spaces to be widened.
She said: “I would have gone through a bit of a fight to get it overturned because of how badly the sign was displayed. It seems they knew they were wrong and they have changed the sign now, but I will make sure I always pay when I visit council car parks.”
Contractors visited the car park on August 11 to move the sign to a more prominent location on the wall of an electricity sub-station at the car park.
