A DRUG dealer was yesterday jailed for five and a half years under a three strikes and your out policy.Mark Aston admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply for the third time after drugs worth up to £1,600 were found at his house.
A DRUG dealer was yesterday jailed for five and a half years under a three strikes and your out policy.
Mark Aston admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply for the third time after drugs worth up to £1,600 were found at his house. The 41-year-old of Perebrown Road, Yarmouth, appeared for sentence at Norwich Crown Court.
Aston told police he had a drug habit and sold cocaine to a select group of friends to fund his own use.
Setencing him, Judge Nicholas Coleman said: “Because of lack of work you slipped back into old habits. You must now access drug rehabilitation available in prison.”
There is now a minimum term for anyone convicted of a third drug trafficking offence.
Katharine Moore, mitigating, said Aston had not been able to get work because of his record. His supplying had been at a “relatively low level”.
