LESSONS at Filby Primary School recently beat to a very different drum as pupils had the opportunity to experience the rhythmic delights of African music, participating in Arber Music's African Drumming Day. The sounds of Africa came alive as children across the school were taught how to play various rhythms on the Djembe drum during exciting and memorable lessons. After the lesson pupil Eleanor said: “I really enjoyed playing the Djembe drums, we copied what the teacher clapped and played different rhythms. It was good fun.”
