Thirty pupils from the Gorleston school took part in a chess tournament as part of the British Land UK Chess Challenge 2008 managed at the school by Mr Barnes.

The tournament was open to all year groups and was hotly contested throughout by both girls and boys.

In the final Dylan competed against Ross Downham in four games, with Dylan emerging as the winner in a thrilling display of tactical chess.

Both boys were presented with £10 book tokens, which were well deserved.
