Police are investigating after a female student was reportedly dragged towards a car with three men inside it.

The incident reportedly took place between 10.50am and 11.20am on Monday in Baliol Road near East Norfolk Sixth Form College, which the teenager attends.

The college principal, Catherine Richards, took the step of sending an email marked ‘urgent’ to staff and students after the incident was reported, warning against walking alone on the road.

The email said: “There was an incident in Baliol Road this morning where a female student was dragged towards a vehicle with three male occupants inside. Until a further update is available from the police please avoid walking down the road on your own if possible and be aware of what is happening around you at all times.”

A spokesman for the school said: “The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and therefore, we took the precautionary step to advise our students and staff to be extra vigilant at this time.

“This matter has been reported to the police and it would be inappropriate for the college to comment further at this time.”

A police spokesman said investigations are ongoing.
