TWO decades after first opening a new chapter is set to begin at Acle Library.

Work is underway to double the size of the library and build an adjoining children’s centre and a celebration held on Thursday to mark the 20th anniversary of its opening.

Children’s book character Maisy is appearing at 10.30am to select winning birthday card design for the library from a selection created by youngsters who took part in the library’s summer reading challenge.

Plans for the extension will be on display and refreshments on offer to visitors throughout the day from 10am to 5pm.

The library extension is due to open in March.
