BEFORE the Tour of Britain completed the sixth stage in Great Yarmouth, schools in the East of England were invited to participate in an Italian Pursuit Cycle Race. Cliff Park Junior School became East Norfolk Italian Pursuit Cycling Champions in a very close competition.

Cliff Park had to compete against a very strong opposition which included Edward Worlledge, Hillside Primary, Caister Junior, St Nicholas Priory and Woodlands Primary. After a slow start, Cliff Park Junior School children were able to display their talents and achieve a fantastic win. Many thanks must go to Bike It Officer Kevin House, Simon Edwards of Tri-A-Sport and Great Yarmouth Cycle Club who have done much to encourage cycle sport within schools.

The children put lots of practice in over the summer holidays and the first few weeks of school. Their hard work has resulted in Cliff Park Junior School being top of the winners podium and grabbing the gold medal. Caister Junior School achieved a very close second place with Edward Worlledge in third.
