Being guilty of stealing a chicken and receiving a prison sentence with hard labour was dished out to the Edward Worlledge Primary school’s year 5 children last week!
Crime and punishment being their current topic subject and, along with the excellent staff at the Tolhouse Museum, the young ones were able to gain a fantastic insight into how crime was dealt with 500 years ago. Along the children’s journey, they met the jailer, prison reformer Sarah Martin, and a prisoner, and were given plenty of opportunities to ask each character questions.
