Staff at Claremont House and Lodge in Caister enjoyed kicking off the Christmas festivities this year by celebrating the official Elf Day, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society. The event encouraged people to dress up as elves for the day, in order to support the charity’s #ElfDay and help raise awareness of dementia.
The home, which provides a range of residential nursing care services to the elderly, including those living with dementia, was delighted to get involved. Staff dressed up, a special competition was “Guess the name of the elf”, and £45 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Home manager Christine Morgan said: “Congratulations to Mrs Collins, wife of one of Claremont’s residents who won the elf by guessing its name Edwardo!. Everyone had great fun, plus it was good to raise some money for the Alzheimer’s Society – a charity this is close to our hearts here at Claremont.”
