PARENTS have organised an open meeting next week over the decision to turn Greenacre Primary School into an academy in September.

Plans announced by the school revealed that pupils in years 5 and 6 will stay at school until 6pm, being offered a high quality, free programme of extra-curricular activities ranging from dancing to horse riding. However, some parents are angry the 45-hour will be imposed, rather than it being a choice. One parent involved in organising the meeting, Tony Blencowe, said he didn’t know about any consultation period until it was too late.

The open meeting is at Yarmouth Town Hall on Friday, July 13 at 6pm.
