To develop their learning across a wider curriculum, Martham Primary School’s Year 6 young ones have, during the summer term, been attending weekly sessions at Martham Bowls Club, working alongside members to develop their skills and understanding of Lawn Bowls.
They followed a six week programme devised by the club which promotes team work and respect, as well as the specific techniques. Throughout the programme, the adults were looking for sportsmanship, determination and the application and understanding of skills and techniques; during the final week, special awards were given to Ciaran, Charlie, Amber L, Terri, William and Amber M.
This is the 10th year children from the school have been attending sessions and many have subsequently attended Saturday morning family sessions and taken up the sport. The school thanks members of Martham Bowls Club, particularly Sue Moore, who have given up time to provide the children with the wonderful opportunity.
