AS top cyclists raced along the Norfolk roads, children at Martham Primary school enjoyed a special Tour of Britain day. About 80 children cycled to school and many took part in fun activities at lunchtime.

Lessons were planned to celebrate the cycle race and reinforce the importance of safety when cycling. All the pupils in the school were involved in producing a banner which was put along the route.

Road safety officer Bob Daynes came into school to talk to the children about the importance of wearing a safety helmet and John Pamplin, the Great Yarmouth sports development officer organised a variety of activities for a group of Year 5 and 6 children.

Doc Spinoff also visited bringing an array of strange and wacky bikes which the children had great fun riding.
