Youngsters at Ormiston Herman Academy have had a bad hair day to raise funds for Break, a charity which supports children’s homes for children in care in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
The fundraising event at the Gorleston school was organised by teacher Charlene Porter and teaching assistants Ceara Manifold and Samantha White and saw them encourage pupils to come to school with “bad hair” in a style of their choice in exchange for a donation to the charity.
There was also a cake sale organised at the same time as the bad hair day, adding to the total amount of funds raised. The event saw the school raise a total of £161 for the charity.
The principal of the school Kate Rutherford said: “I’m hugely proud of the efforts made by pupils, parents, and staff to raise this money for such an important charity.
“Pupils very much enjoyed showing off their weird and wacky hairstyles.”
