PUPILS and staff of St Nicholas Priory Junior School held an American Day on Friday.
Children and staff were invited to dress as an American character in return for a donation to their twin school St Judes in Zimbabwe through the charity Smile International. A total amount of 245 was raised. Mrs Ball, the school cook and her staff, put on a special American menu at lunchtime including Cowboy Sausages, Bean Casserole, Hollywood Hotdogs, Broadway Baked Potatoes, Cheerleader Cheesecake and Mississippi Strawberry Milkshake, which was very popular. More than 320 pupils had a cooked dinner! The Yankee Traveller Restaurant in Yarmouth kindly donated an American flag for the occasion.
