An antique photo album containing images dating back to the Victorian age from across East Anglia has been discovered in a pile of items due to be thrown out of a charity shop.
Sarah Woolley discovered the photo album in the Benjamin Foundation charity shop in Ipswich a few months ago, and decided to save it from being thrown out.
However, upon scanning through it this week, Miss Woolley decided she should return the “treasure” to its rightful owner, a man whose name is written in the back of the album.
Miss Woolley is searching for a Christopher James Cole, or any relatives of his, who is believed to have been born in Great Yarmouth.
She said: “I want to return the album to its rightful owners. There’s photos from all over East Anglia dating from the Victorian times, through to more recently. The pictures depict scenes from buildings which I recognise from growing up, as well as families sitting around and doing activities.”
